摘要:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of a conventional time-of-flight type mass spectrometer comprising a pushing-out electrode of a flat plate structure in which, as a negative acceleration potential is added, positive ions collide with the pushing- out electrode to emit negative electrons to be detected by an ion detector, where a signal of the negative ions only cannot be detected because detection efficiency for negative electrons is higher than detection efficiency of negative ions by more than tens of times. SOLUTION: The pushing-out electrode 1 and an outlet side electrode 1 compose an acceleration part, where the pushing-out electrode, which has conventionally been of a flat plate structure, is composed in a mesh structure. As a pulse negative potential is added to the pushing-out electrode 1 as in drawing 1 (b), the negative ions are accelerated by the outlet side electrode 2 to be detected by the ion detector 3, while positive ions pass the pushing-out electrode 1. Collision of the positive ions with the flat plate electrode to generate negative electrons is thus eliminated. By separately providing an ion detector on a back surface of the pushing-out electrode, the positive ions can be detected simultaneously. A lens system or a reflection field may also be provided.
