A method for controlling undesirable condensation of hydrogen peroxide in a sterilization chamber at a preselected temperature is disclosed. The method comprises maintaining the sterilization chamber at a vacuum pressure that is lower than the pressure at which the hydrogen peroxide will boil at the pre-selected temperature, vaporizing the hydrogen peroxide in successive pulses, and allowing the volume of hydrogen peroxide in each pulse to be less than 75 [mu] Preferably less than 35 [mu] L, and most preferably less than 20 [mu] L, into the chamber.
