The invention describes a method for Artemia cysts extract preparation for wide metabolome coverage, with application in Artemia metabolomics analysis, The method described here is characterized by comprising two stages of solvent extraction. The method disclosed by the invention has the advantages that: 1, the metabolome coverage in this method is most suitable for the Artemia cysts, which is important for promoting Artemia metabonomics research and molecules from Artemia has potential application in biomedical and pharmaceutical fields. The extraction protocol for Artemia metabolome analysis is relatively simple which eliminate the need of any cost effective accessories such as solid phase extraction (SPE) cartridges.
