The present invention relates to a composite material comprising matrix material in an amount of 20-40 weight-% of the total composition, filler material in an amount of 40-60weight-% of the total composition, and inorganic fibre material an amount of 10-30 weight-% of the total composition, wherein the inorganic fibre material comprises short fibres having an average length of 80-300 µm and a diameter of 4- 2 µm, in an amount of 20-80 weight-% of the total amount of fibre material and long fibres having an average length of 500-1300 µm and a diameter of 8-27µm in an amount of 20-80 weight-% of the total amount of fibre material. The invention also relates to the use of this material in dentistry, especially as restorative filler material.La présente invention concerne un matériau composite qui comporte un matériau de matrice en une quantité de 20 à 40 % en poids de la composition totale, un matériau de charge en une quantité de 40 à 60 % en poids de la composition totale, et un matériau de fibre inorganique en une quantité de 10 à 30 % en poids de la composition totale, le matériau de fibre inorganique comportant des fibres courtes ayant une longueur moyenne de 80 à 300 µm et un diamètre de 4 à 2 µm, en une quantité de 20 à 80 % en poids de la quantité totale de matériau de fibre, et des fibres longues ayant une longueur moyenne de 500 à 1 300 µm et un diamètre de 8 à 27 µm en une quantité de 20 à 80 % en poids de la quantité totale de matériau de fibre.
