The press system to compress material for water extraction, using a screw conveyor (3), has a mounting for the screw conveyor (3) at the entry side which can modify the angle of the centre line through the conveyor by the action of the forces at right angles to its axis line. The specification is an addition to DE4212275.9. The entry end of the conveyor screw rotates forwards and back through a bearing mounting (16, 17) with a mainly torque free action. The drive (12) to the bearing mounting assembly has a unit (13) to take up any torque.
