PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-weight granular culture soil that has low specific gravity, excellent adaptability to a seeding machine, satisfactory preservability, and on which a crop plant such as paddy rice grows well.SOLUTION: Light-weight granular culture soil provided by the present invention is obtained by mixing and granulating a raw material mixture, which contains (a) soil, (b) vermiculite, and (c) one or a plurality selected from the group consisting of rice husk charcoal, active charcoal, peat-moss, perlite and coco-peat at the ratio of (a)30 to 60 vol.%, (b)10 to 30 vol.% and (c)10 to 40 vol.% respectively, with water and water soluble binding agent, and forming the mixture into a granular state of a grain diameter from 1 to 4.5 mm, whose specific gravity is 0.5 to 0.8.SELECTED DRAWING: None
