PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire support for an electric wire which is easily constructed, can use a wire excellent in durability and strength, and can bear even tensile force after wire stretching.SOLUTION: A wire support 4 for an electric fence holds a conductible wire 5 which is bridged over between trees 1 by use of trunk parts 2 of the trees 1, so as to be separated from the trunk parts 2 of the trees 1. The wire support 4 includes a body 10 made of an insulation member, to be attached to the trunk part 2, and the body 10 includes: an insertion hole 14 for inserting a hard synthetic resin nail member 3 knocked into the trunk part 2 and attached thereto; and grooves 12 formed such that the wire 5 does not move in the up-and-down direction of the trunk part 2. The body 10 can be formed into a cylindrical body having a circular or polygonal cross section, and the grooves 12 may be provided toward the trunk part 2 at positions opposed to each other of an end 15 on a side distant from the trunk part 2
