PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article capable of exhibiting an excellent liquid absorption rate and a rewetting prevention action.SOLUTION: A sanitary napkin 1a (absorbent article) includes a liquid-permeable sheet 2, a liquid-impermeable sheet 3, and an absorber 4a which is provided between the liquid-permeable sheet 2 and the liquid-impermeable sheet 3. The absorber 4a comprises a first layer 41 which contains an absorbent material, and a second layer 42 which contains composite particles including hydrophilic fibers and cross-linked bodies of an alkyl cellulose derivative.
