This invention relates to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines. Previously, there is a need for a system to cool a patient in an MRI machine. Embodiments of the present invention use a blower system (10) that is configured to blow an air source into the interior of the MRI machine (36). The blower system may include a generally cylindrical housing (11) to match the diameter of the head end of the MRI machine chamber (37). A fan (40) may pull ambient room temperature or cooled air from either an intake port (38) or from the oxygen lines (26, 28) to dynamically circulate the air through the housing (11) effectively immersing the patient in air which is adjustable by automatic control or by the patient.
