The present invention relates to a method of preparing a mosquito repellent composition which is conceptually different from insecticides in that the mosquito repellent composition repels, rather than exterminates, mosquitoes. The composition prevents mosquitoes from approaching and entering by desensitizing their navigational instinct to gather near human habitations to consume blood, and since the repellent effect lasts for long periods of time, pleasant environments free of mosquitoes can be maintained for long periods of time.
