PURPOSE: A composition containing a Cinnamomum cassia Blume extract for promoting growth or preventing and treating osteoporosis is provided to enhance osteogenesis.CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for promoting growth or preventing and treating osteoporosis contains a crude extract, a polar solvent soluble extract, or a non-polar solvent soluble extract of Cinnamomum cassia Blume as an active ingredient. The crude extract is prepared using a solvent selected from the group consisting of water, C1-C4 alcohols, or a mixture thereof. The polar solvent soluble extract is dissolved in a solvent selected among water, methanol, ethanol, butanol, or a mixture thereof. The non-polar solvent soluble extract is dissolved in a solvent selected from hexane, chloroform, and ethyl acetate.
