PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve accurate calculation of the tip position of a puncture needle in an ultrasonic diagnostic system.SOLUTION: A probe 10 is provided with a position sensor 16 and a puncture adapter 12. The puncture adapter 12 holds a puncture needle 20. The puncture needle 20 is provided with a position sensor 22 at the rear end. The portion between the position sensor 22 and the puncture adapter 12 is flexible. Based on the two pieces of positional information detected by the two position sensors 16 and 22, the tip position of the puncture needle 20 is calculated as the position on a determined puncture path.
