Said device has a lingual screen (4) mounted so as to be movable with respect to the splint in a reversible movement directed towards the front region in the median direction, and at least one lateral palatine portion having, on an anterior surface, a bearing region that can be placed on a sector of the upper dental arch in the area of one of the half-arcs (23a, 23b), the lingual screen (4) being designed in such a way that a lingual thrust is at least partially transmitted by it to the bearing region during the reversible movement.
