PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel melanism promoter for skin and/or hair, an external preparation, and a food and drink in which the safety is ensured in practical use by using the plant of natural origin, exhibiting an excellent effect on promoting melanism of the skin and hair.SOLUTION: A melanism promoter is an extract obtained by supplying leaves and stem parts of Angelica furcijuga Kitagawa belonging to Apiaceae Angelica into a solution of water: 1,3 butylene glycol (1:1) to perform extraction. This melanism promoter shows an excellent effect on promoting melanism of the skin and hair.【目的】 天然由来の植物を用いることで実使用における安全性を確保し、皮膚、毛髪の黒化促進に優れた効果を示す、新規な皮膚および/または毛髪の黒化促進剤、外用剤、飲食品を提供する。【解決手段】 セリ科(Apiaceae)シシウド属(Angelica)に属するヒュウガトウキ(Angelica furcijuga Kitagawa)の葉部および茎部を、水:1,3ブチレングリコール(1:1)の溶液に入れて抽出操作を行い、得られた抽出物を黒化促進剤とした。この黒化促進剤は、皮膚、毛髪の黒化促進に優れた効果を示した。【選択図】 図1
