A dental mirror assembly including a handle that allows the practitioner to hold the system and manipulate it in the oral cavity of a patient. A shaft assembly connects a motor within the handle to a gear box that transfers angular momentum to the mirror. The power to spin the mirror flows from the motor within the handle to the shaft. From there the power flows to a bevel gear and to then to a spinning mechanism, to spin the mirror.
