PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem wherein the conversion rate of an odor component to carbon dioxide is inferior in performance to black light when using an ultraviolet LED as a light source of a photocatalyst deodorizing apparatus instead of black light in conventional use.SOLUTION: The conversion rate of an odor component to carbon dioxide can be considerably increased by intermittently lighting the output of a power supply for a light emitting diode light source provided at a photocatalyst deodorizing apparatus. The duty ratio of intermittent lighting of the light emitting diode light source output is preferably 40% or more and 95% or less. The lighting time of intermittent lighting is preferably 1 msec to 100 msec. The output waveform of the power supply for the light emitting diode light source may be rectangular pulses or may be the rectified pulsating current of a commercial AC power source of 50 to 60 Hz.COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT【課題】光触媒消臭装置の光源に、従来から用いられているブラックライトの代わりに、紫外光LEDを光源として用いる際に、臭気成分の二酸化炭素への転換率がブラックライトより性能が劣っているという問題点を解決する必要があった。【解決手段】本発明において、光触媒消臭装置に備える発光ダイオード光源用電源の出力を間欠点灯させることで臭気成分の二酸化炭素への転化率を大幅に高めることができる。上記発光ダイオード光源出力の間欠点灯のデューティー比は40%以上、95%以下とすることが望ましく、間欠点灯の点灯時間は1msecから100msecが望ましい。上記発光ダイオード光源用電源の出力波形は、矩形のパルスでも良いし、50ないし60Hzの商用交流電源を整流した脈流であっても良い。【選択図】図1
