Abstract The present invention relates broadly to a basin or bath waste assembly 10 comprising a waste drain 12, a drain connector 14, and a drain plug sub-assembly 16. The drain connector 14 facilitates fitting of the waste drain 12 to a drain opening provided in a basin or bath. The basin or bath waste assembly 10 is suitable for installation in basins or baths either with or without overflow capability. For this purpose the waste drain 12 includes at least one overflow aperture such as 18A adapted to optionally connect to an overflow passage of a basin or bath having overflow capability. The drain connector 14 is moveably relative to the waste drain 12 to secure the waste drain 12 in an exposed mode where the overflow aperture 18A of the waste drain 12 is exposed to the overflow passage 19a and 19b. In the event the basin or bath does not include an overflow passage the drain connector 14 can be moved relative to the waste drain 12 in an unexposed mode where the drain connector 14 isolates the overflow ape
