The present disclosure provides reagents, methods and kits for treating melanoma. Reagents include interferon-γ (IFN-γ) responsive melanoma cells. These cells are autophagic and non-apoptotic melanoma cells and express MHC class II. In another embodiment, the reagents include dendritic cells loaded with melanoma cells that are non-apoptotic and express MHC class II in response to IFN-γ.
