Disclosed herein is an isolated DEPDC1-derived epitope peptide capable of inducing Th1 cells. Such peptides are recognized by MHC class II molecules and are capable of inducing Th1 cells. In a preferred embodiment, such a peptide of the invention is capable of binding promiscuous to MHC class II molecules and inducing DEPDC1-specific CTL in addition to Th1 cells. Such peptides are therefore suitable for use in enhancing an immune response in a subject and can therefore be used in cancer immunotherapy, especially as a cancer vaccine. Also disclosed herein are polynucleotides encoding any of the aforementioned peptides, APC and Th1 cells induced by such peptides, and methods of induction associated therewith. Pharmaceutical compositions containing any of the above components as an active ingredient are used, for example, in the treatment and / or prevention of cancer or tumors including bladder cancer and breast cancer.
