Monoclonal antibody and other Fc-containing molecules can be constructed using the disclosed variations in the Fc region causing increased resistance to host and pathogen-derived proteases and exhibiting the ability to interact with Fey receptors and initiate complement directed cytotoxicity as demonstrated by functional assays.
