A peptide having melanin production promoting activity is provided. The peptide of the present invention exhibits an excellent effect on melanogenesis by increasing the activity and expression of tyrosinase and increasing the expression of factors involved in melanogenesis. The peptides of the present invention can be used for prevention, amelioration, and treatment of melanin hypopigmentation.
