PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper capable of retaining a slim and neat external appearance by preventing a diaper from getting bulky, scarcely impairing the designability of a character design or the like drawn on an external sheet, neatly forming parts around the legs, and having superior wearability.
SOLUTION: This disposable diaper 1 includes an absorbent body 14 including an absorber and formed into a pad shape, and an external sheet 16 formed with a waist opening part 10 and a pair of leg opening parts 12, and having a pants shape, wherein the absorbent body 14 is formed narrower than the width of a crotch part of the external sheet 16, and is disposed and fixed to the external sheet 16 so that its both side edges are stored in an inter-openings area between the leg opening parts 12 of the external sheet 16, and the external sheet 16 is attached with a crotch stretching material 50 in a stretched state in the width direction of the diaper, at least in an area of the crotch part 4 which is between the opening circumferential edges of the respective leg opening parts 12 and side edges close to the absorber.
