PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dentifrice composition which has satisfactory paste-split nature and excellent spinnability, and also has excellent dispersibility in an oral cavity, formability and liquid separation stability.SOLUTION: The dentifrice composition contains (A) 20 to 50 mass% of water, contains (B) a carboxyvinyl polymer and (C) one or more kinds of binders selected from xanthan gum, carrageenan, alginic acid and its salt, and a carboxymethylcellulose salt in such a manner that the mass ratio of the (C)/(B) is controlled to be 1.0 to 5, also contains (D) 1 to 10 mass% of silicic anhydride with an oil absorption of 150 to 300 g/100 g, and has a pH at 25°C of 6 to 9. Further, the dentifrice composition is blended with (E) a nonionic surfactant.
