PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dentifrice composition, in which ascorbic acid phosphate ester or a salt thereof has excellent stability by maintaining the stability of the ascorbic acid phosphate ester or salt thereof over time in the range of pH of 8.0 or less, and which provides a good feeling of use with decreased buccal irritation during and after use, and a method for stabilizing the ascorbic acid phosphate ester or salt thereof in the dentifrice composition.SOLUTION: The dentifrice composition includes (A) ascorbic acid phosphate ester or a salt thereof, and includes: (B) a silica-based abrasive and (C) an alkali metal salt selected from sodium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium sulfate and potassium sulfate, and the dentifrice compound has pH at 25°C of 6.0-8.0.
