The amount of image deformation for deforming either the first image or the second image so that the first image and the second image coincide is calculated. In the second image, a tomographic picture that corresponds to the first tomographic image is specified as the second tomographic image on the basis of the amounts of image deformation for multiple positions in the first region of interest and the first tomographic image information, and a region of interest in the second image that corresponds to the first region of interest is specified as the second region interest.
