PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compounds having excellent effects such as of suppressing parakeratosis, shrinking pores, and preventing and ameliorating skin roughness, and being useful as highly safe parakeratosis-suppressing agents, pore shrinking agents, rough skin preventing and ameliorating agents and to provide compositions for external preparation for skin in which the compounds are added.
SOLUTION: Disclosed is a glutamic acid derivative represented by general formula (1) or a salt thereof. In formula (1), A represents a single bond, an oxycarbonyl group, a carbonyl group, or a sulfonyl group.
