PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means for effectively reducing the volume of a roll bale in order to load roll bales to the limit of a loading weight of a truck by increasing the number of roll bales loaded on the loading platform of the truck in transporting the roll bales formed by and unloaded from a roll baler by loading them on the loading platform of the truck. SOLUTION: Volume reduction of roll bales is carried out by placing a roll bale unloaded from the forming chamber of a roll baler on a support stand in a standing attitude by bringing the axis direction to be vertical, bringing a pressurization plate ascending and descending by a lifter to abut on the upper end surface in the axis direction of the roll bale, lowering the pressurization plate by the action of the lifter to compress the roll bale by pressure in the axis direction, tightly binding and fixing the roll bale in the axis direction with a wire/rope/metal fitting or the like when the volume is reduced by pressing and crushing the roll bale in the axis direction, and subsequently releasing the pressurization pressure of the pressurization plate to reduce the volume of the roll bale.
