PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article in which leakage of highly absorbent polymer from a side edge part of an absorber is prevented.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article has an absorber 14 gripping highly absorbent polymers 22 between liquid-permeable sheets 21a and 21b. The highly absorbent polymers 22 are arranged so that an existing area 23 and a non-existing area 24 of the polymers 22 are formed in the stripe shape by turns. In the non-existing area 24, the two liquid-permeable sheets 21a and 21b abut directly on each other and joined. In the existing area 23, the liquid-permeable sheets 21a and 21b are separate via the polymers 22 and are in a non-joined state. Existing areas 23a and 23b positioned on both side parts of the absorber 14 are in a state folded toward inside the width direction of the absorber 14 with non-existing areas 24a and 24b as folded positions.
