Al2O3-Keramik ist insbesondere wegen seiner Biokompatibilität ein bevorzugter Werkstoff in der Prothetik und Dentaltechnik. Durch eine geeignete spezielle Werkstoffzusammensetzung sowie spezielle Herstellungsverfahren lässt sich eine transluzente oder transparente Keramik herstellen, die ein Gefüge mit besonders geringer mittlerer Korngröße aufweist und vorzugsweise in der Zahnmedizin Anwendung findet. Wegen seiner guten mechanischen und tribologischen Eigenschaften findet der Werkstoff aber auch Anwendung im Maschinen- und Anlagenbau. Erfindungsgemäß wird ein Aluminiumoxid-Keramik-Werkstoff mit einem Al2O3-Gehalt von > 99,9 % vorgeschlagen, der eine Sinterdichte von > 3,98 g/cm3 und eine mittlere Gefügekorngröße im Bereich von ≤ 0,6 μm aufweist. Die Grünkörper werden mittels Hochdruck-Spritzgießen hergestellt und die Sinterkörper durch heißisostatisches Pressen (HIP) nachverdichtet.Al2O3 ceramic is a preferred material in prosthetics and dental technology, especially because of its biocompatibility. A suitable particular material composition and particular production processes make it possible to produce a translucent or transparent ceramic which has a microstructure having a particularly small mean grain size and is preferably employed in dentistry. Because of its good mechanical and tribological properties, the material is also employed in mechanical engineering and plant construction. The invention proposes an aluminium oxide ceramic material having an Al2O3 content of > 99.9%, a sintered density of > 3.98 g/cm3 and a mean grain size in the microstructure in the range of ≤ 0.6 μm.
