Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung (1) zum Freisetzen eines Wirkstoffes in die Umgebung, umfassend oder bestehend aus folgenden Komponenten: a) ein Behälter (2), der zumindest eine Behälteröffnung (4) aufweist, b) eine in dem Behälter befindliche flüssige Zusammensetzung (5) bestehend aus oder umfassend b1) Wasser, b2) mindestens eine, zwei, drei oder vier Verbindungen der allgemeinen Formel (I), wobei R1, R2, R3 und R4 unabhängig voneinander Wasserstoff, Methyl, Ethyl, Propyl, Butyl, Pentyl oder Hexyl darstellen, b3) einen oder mehrere Wirkstoffe, b4) optional einen oder mehrere Farbstoffe und b5) optional einen oder mehrere Konservierungsmittel, und c) mindestens ein Diffusionsstäbchen (3, 3', 3"), das in Kontakt mit der in dem Behälter befindlichen flüssigen Zusammensetzung (5) steht und sich durch die Behälteröffnung (4) aus dem Behälter (2) erstreckt.
