PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method for producing boiled rice for individual meal, which is suitable for producing boiled rice for individual meal, particularly aseptically-packaged boiled rice.SOLUTION: The method for producing boiled rice for individual meal includes the steps: standing immersed rice together with water at an amount appropriate to water absorption in the container having an opening part at a temperature and for a period of time each effective on the water absorption to make the rice absorb the water and heating a single water-absorbing container or a plurality of water-absorbing containers at the same time to make boiled rice.
