A storage resource management system and method. The system comprises: a rack management controller (RMC), configured to manage storage resource according to one or more of self-monitoring analysis and reporting technology (SMART) information, Serial Attached Small Computer System Interface (SAS) topology information, and hard disk information that are received; a server node board, configured to obtain the SMART information and report the SMART information to the RMC; a switch node board, configured to obtain the SAS topology information and report the SAS topology information to the RMC; and a storage node board, configured to obtain the hard disk information and report the hard disk information to the RMC.
