The present invention relates to a use of banana stamen extracts for promoting hair growth. The banana stamen extracts according to the present invention can promote gene expression of VEGF and IGF1 to enhance the level of hair follicles, such that the density of hairs grown is increased. In addition, the banana stamen extracts can also inhibit gene expression of SRD5A1, SRDA2 and AR to decrease hair loss, and promote the gene expression of KROX20 so as to significantly enhance hair growth.本發明係關於一種香蕉雄蕊萃取物之用途，提供了香蕉雄蕊萃取物於製備促進毛髮生長醫藥組成物之用途。藉由本發明用於製備醫藥組成物的香蕉雄蕊萃取物，可促進VEGF與IGF1基因之表現，而大幅提升毛囊細胞的增生數量，使毛髮生長地更為濃密。此外，本發明的香蕉雄蕊萃取物，亦可抑制掉髮基因SRD5A1、SRD5A2或AR的表現，或促進毛髮生長基因KROX20的表現，使毛髮之生長顯著增加。
