PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seaweed culturing rope which makes it easy to perform the operation of holding a seaweed seedling between the strands of the rope and to provide a method for using the rope.SOLUTION: A seaweed culturing rope 10 is made by braiding or twisting non-elastic strands 11, 12 which does not show elasticity and an elastic strand 13 which shows moderate elasticity. Six non-elastic strands and one elastic strand are used, and two of the six non-elastic strands make up a unit to obtain three units and the one elastic strand makes up a unit. The rope is made by twisting four strands consisting of three units of the non-elastic strands 31, 32, 33 and one unit of the elastic strand 34. A method for using the seaweed culturing rope includes: stretching the elastic strand to form a gap between the elastic strand and the non-elastic strands； and inserting a part of a seaweed seedling to be cultured into the gap and then holding the seaweed seedling between the elastic strand and the non-elastic strands by the elastic force of the elastic strand.【課題】 挟み込み作業を簡便にし得る養殖用ロープの提供とその使用方法を提案する。【解決手段】 海藻類の養殖用ロープ１０は、伸縮性を示さない非伸縮ストランド１１，１２と、適度な伸縮性を示す伸縮ストランド１３とを、編組または撚り合わせてなる。非伸縮ストランド６本と、伸縮ストランド１本とを使用し、非伸縮ストランドは２本を一組として３組とし、伸縮ストランドは１本で１組とし、３組の非伸縮ストランド３１，３２，３３と１本の伸縮ストランド３４を４つ打ちによりロープを構成させる。養殖用ロープの使用方法は、伸縮ストランドを伸張させて非伸縮ストランドとの間に間隙を形成し、間隙に養殖対象の海藻類の種苗の一部を侵入させた後、伸縮ストランドの弾性力により種苗を挟持させる。【選択図】 図１
