PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combine harvester that can prevent insufficient threshing of grain culms even when the amount of grain culms (quantity of straw) reaped by a reaping apparatus increases, and can prevent grain culms from becoming out of order of their conveyance posture, spilling, etc., even when the amount of grain culms (quantity of straw) reaped by the reaping apparatus decreases, thus improving threshing operability.SOLUTION: The combine harvester includes a stepless variable-speed reaping mechanism for transmitting the travel driving force of the traveling machine body to a reaping apparatus, a variable-speed means for varying the variable-speed ratio for the variable-speed reaping mechanism, and a straw level sensor 140 for detecting the amount of grain culms conveyed by a grain culm conveying mechanism.
