PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of promoting wound healing and reducing scar formation, namely a method of promoting healing of an injury or a wound, a method of promoting re-epithelialization of a wound, a method of reducing or preventing scarring during healing of a wound, a method of inhibiting production of TGF-&bgr； collagen and collagen induced fibroblast proliferation of a wound of the skin, and a method of improving the appearance of disfiguration.SOLUTION: A method of healing a wound comprises a step of administering pharmaceutically active H2 relaxin which is recombinant or synthetic in an amount effective in healing of the wound at the concentration of about 1 mg/ml by irrigating the wound, a step of topically administering the H2 relaxin at the concentration of 0.5 to 2.5 mg/ml, or intravenously administering the H2 relaxin at the concentration of 10 to 1000 &mu；g/kg/day.【課題】創傷の治癒を改善し、瘢痕形成を低減する方法、即ち、外傷又は創傷の治癒を促進する方法、創傷の再上皮化を促進する方法、創傷が治癒する間に瘢痕化するのを低減又は防止する方法、皮膚創傷の、線維芽細胞増殖を誘導するＴＧＦ－βコラーゲン及びコラーゲンの生成を抑制する方法並びに損なわれた外観を改善する方法の提供。【解決手段】組換え技術により製造された、又は合成された、薬学的に活性な有効な量のH2リラキシンを約１ｍｇ／ｍｌの濃度で洗浄により投与、又は０．５～２．５ｍｇ／ｍｌの濃度で局所投与又は１０～１０００μｇ／ｋｇ／日の濃で静脈投与による使用により、創傷を治癒する方法。【選択図】なし
