PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic probe which does not require a technique of a high degree and enables any kind of operator to safely and accurately perform the piercing of a piercing needle by free hand.SOLUTION: The ultrasonic probe includes: a body section 1 consisting of a grip 3 by which an operator holds the ultrasonic probe, and a housing case 4 which is connected with the grip 3 and holds a plurality of vibration elements forming a scanning surface 5 for the ultrasonic wave being cast and a cable 2 one end of which is connected with the body section 1, and the other end of which is connected with this ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus. On the end section of the housing case 4, a piercing needle guiding groove 6 in which the piercing needle 8 is fitted is formed.
