A pharmaceutical composition comprising a therapeutically active agent and SNAC (sodium 8-N-(2-hydroxybenzoyl)aminocaprylate) is provided herein. The composition is formulated for oral administration and is such that the SNAC is active in enhancing absorption of the therapeutically active agent for no more than 60 minutes, and/or such that absorption of the therapeutically active agent following oral administration of the composition is characterized by a ratio of AUC to Cmax which is 60 minutes or lower and/or by a Tmax which is 60 minutes or lower.
