The present utility model relates to antimicrobial composition comprising extracts from parts of Basella Alba and Nerlum Indicum plants, which include leaves, stems and roots, preferably from the leaves. In several embodiments, the extracts are mixed at a ratio of 3:1, 1:1 and 1:3 Basella Alba and Nerium lndicum respectively. The process for preparing the antimicrobial composition comprises the steps of extracting the active components from the plant materials with the use of a solvent, preferably alcohol and mixing them at an acceptable ratio; and adding pharmaceutically acceptable excipients.
