The invention relates to a device for diffusing (10) a volatile substance comprising: - a housing (12) internally defining an air circulation circuit between at least one air inlet (26) and at least one outlet of air (42a, 42b, 42c), ventilation means (44) arranged in the circuit and adapted to circulate a flow of air from the inlet to the air outlet, and receiving (50) arranged in the air circuit downstream of the ventilation means and for receiving a substrate (46) retaining a volatile substance. According to the invention, the air circuit comprises at least one chamber (54a, 54b, 54c) arranged downstream of said receiving zone (50) and upstream of an air outlet (42a, 42b, 42c) housing (12) and having a section which increases from upstream to downstream and which opens downstream in an air outlet (42a, 42b, 42c) of the housing (12). L'invention concerne un dispositif de diffusion (10) d'une substance volatile comprenant : - un boîtier (12) définissant intérieurement un circuit de circulation d'air entre au moins une entrée d'air (26) et au moins une sortie d'air (42a, 42b, 42c), - un moyen de ventilation (44) agencé dans le circuit et apte à faire circuler un flux d'air depuis l'entrée jusqu'à la sortie d'air, et - une zone de réception (50) agencée dans le circuit d'air en aval du moyen de ventilation et destinée à recevoir un substrat (46) retenant une substance volatile. Selon l'invention, le circuit d'air comprend au moins une chambre (54a, 54b, 54c) agencée en aval de ladite zone de réception (50) et en amont d'une sortie d'air (42a, 42b, 42c) du boîtier (12) et ayant une section qui augmente de l'amont vers l'aval et qui débouche en aval dans une sortie d'air (42a, 42b, 42c) du boîtier (12).
