<;P>;PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new fibroblast growth accelerator given by being extracted from internal organs of a bivalve or seaweed belonging to the class Rhodophyceae, especially low-quality laver unsuitable for being eaten as food, of which the use is conventionally few as a useful fibroblast growth accelerator, capable of producing an excellent effect as a raw material for constituting a remedy for wounds, a cosmetic, etc., and capable of being easily used. <;P>;SOLUTION: This fibroblast growth accelerator comprises a mycosporine-like amino acid (MAA) or contains the MAA as an active ingredient. The MAA is preferably extracted from the internal organs of the bivalve or extracted from the seaweed belonging to the class Rhodophyceae. The fibroblast growth accelerator is effective for accelerating growth of a human skin fibroblast and used as the raw material for constituting the remedy for the wounds, the cosmetic, a bath additive, food and drink, a culture medium for the fibroblast, etc. <;P>;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
