A multi purpose concrete edging block has a rectangular cross section with a slightly sloping upper surface and with a raised lip (1) at the higher edge. The inner side of the lip has curved edges (3) for ease of cleaning. The lip can be fitted against the edge of a lawn enabling the mower to cut right to the edge. The block can be used as a raised edge between a paved area and a grassed area or as an edging strip between a gravel soak away surround to a building and a grassed/paved area. A recess (5) at the inner edge of the block provides a grip for laying the blocks.
