The method comprises the one or more controllers: detecting the tracker within the field-of-view of the localizer by establishing a line-of-sight relationship between the tracker and the localizer; generating a virtual line-of-sight boundary based on the line-of-sight relationship; associating a virtual object with one or more of the manipulator or the surgical tool; predictively determining whether a planned movement of one or more of the manipulator or the surgical tool will cause a virtual collision between the virtual object and the virtual line-of-sight boundary; and enabling a response based on an outcome of predictively determining whether the planned movement will cause the virtual collision. 501/9 00 Oil ------------------------------- -
