PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope able to securely perform a function setting even if an intentional operation is performed by a user.SOLUTION: The endoscope comprises: a first joy stick configured to determine or end a function setting on the basis of a pressing time a display control part configured to display on a display part a menu screen G2 for displaying a main menu, a set up menu screen for selecting a set up menu for setting up an endoscope system, and a selection screen G5 for selecting a function setting for the set up menu selected on the set up menu screen and a function setting determination part configured to determine a function setting selected on the selection screen G5, regardless of the pressing time of the first joy stick.
