A rotary joint for CT scanners, having a gantry, is designed for transferring data of N data channels from the rotating part of the gantry to the stationary part of the gantry. The rotating part comprises N input channels for receiving data of the N data channels, a routing means for routing the signals of the input channels to N+1 transmission lines via delay units and transmitter amplifiers. The stationary part comprises N receiving couplers connected to N receiving amplifiers for delivering the signals to N output channels. The delay units are position-dependent adjusted to delay the signals fed into the transmission lines such, that, when receiving coupler moves from one transmission line to another transmission line, the signals arrive therein at the same time. This increases the useable data rate and bandwidth and compensates for manufacturing tolerances of components.
