PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embossing roll for an absorbent article by which an emboss pattern can be optionally changed and which can flexibly cope with partial wearing or partial loss of the boss portions for forming an emboss pattern.
SOLUTION: The embossing roll is constituted of a roll base shaft 2 and a large number of ring materials 3, 3 for forming the emboss pattern which is outwardly fitted around the roll base shaft 2 and has boss portion 3a, 3a for forming the emboss pattern at the peripheral face portion in various kinds of patterns, and the desired emboss pattern can be constituted by an optional combination of the ring materials 3, 3 for forming the emboss pattern. A large number of ring materials 3, 3 for forming the emboss pattern outwardly fitted around the roll base shaft 2 are secured by a pair of left and right side plate 4, 4 fixed to both the side faces of the roll base shaft 2 and sandwiching and securing the large number of the ring materials 3, 3 for forming the emboss pattern and one or more of through bolts 5 inserted into bolt through holes 3f to 3i formed in a peripheral portion of the ring material for forming the emboss pattern.
