The present invention relates to a high molecular weight polyethylene resin composition which is obtained by kneading a mixture consisting of high molecular weight polyethylene with a weight average molecular weight of 400,000 to 700,000 g/mol and lamellar inorganic particles. The kneading allows the lamellar inorganic particles to be exfoliated into plate-like inorganic particle flakes whereby the high molecular weight polyethylene resin composition is dispersed. Also, the present invention relates to a method for preparing a high molecular weight polyethylene resin composition, comprising: a) a step of preparing a mixture consisting of high molecular weight polyethylene with a weight average molecular weight of 400,000 to 700,000 g/mol and lamellar inorganic particles with an average diameter of 1 to 50 µm; b) a step of kneading the mixture to exfoliate the lamellar inorganic particles into plate-like inorganic particle flakes; and c) a step of pelletizing the kneaded mixture.
