The invention relates to a surgical device meant for veterinary medicine, which is used to retract ribs in large animals, such as cattle, during heart surgery, where an optimal surgical field needs to be provided. According to the invention, the device consists of two scissors-type jaws (1 and 2), with the active side provided with notches, between which there are mounted some levers (4), a rack-type screw mechanism, consisting of the ear (5) and the screw (6) passing through the threaded zone of a body (7), joining, in an articulated way, the posterior part of the jaws (1 and 2), where the screw (6) is captive at the tip in the ear (5) and, at the end of the threaded rod, it is provided with a non-detachable handle (8), by which the manual rotation is performed to achieve variation of the opening (d) of the extremity of the jaws provided each with a dished part having the rib shape and size, all the elements of the device being articulated to one another by means of some rivets (3).Invenţia se referă la un dispozitiv chirurgical destinat medicinii veterinare, care este utilizat pentru depărtarea coastelor animalelor mari, cum sunt bovinele, în timpul operaţiilor pe cord, când trebuie asigurat un câmp operator optim. Dispozitivul conform invenţiei este constituit din două fălci (1 şi 2) tip foarfecă, cu partea activă a acestora prevăzută cu rizuri, între care se montează nişte pârghii (4), un mecanism cu şurub tip cremalieră, format din ureche (5) şi şurubul (6) care trece prin zona filetată a unui corp (7), unind articulat partea posterioară a fălcilor (1 şi 2), şurubul (6) este prizonier la vârf în ureche (5) şi are prevăzut, la capătul tijei filetate, un mâner (8), nedemontabil, cu ajutorul căruia se execută rotirea manuală pentru realizarea variaţiei deschiderii (d) a extremităţii fălcilor prevăzute cu câte o ambutisare de forma şi mărimea coastelor, toate elementele dispozitivului fiind articulate între ele cu ajutorul unor nituri (3).
