PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chum basket, opening and closing its lid by operating a basket line, a weight and a locking tool with vertically swinging operation of a fishing line consistently, and capable of adjusting the distribution amount of chum in the sea.SOLUTION: A basket body 1 is formed by a mesh cylindrical container including an opening at the upper end, a basket handing hole for hanging the basket body on its upper circumferential surface, and a weight at the bottom. A lid body is provided at the upper part of the opening to open and close the opening of the basket body 1. As an opening and closing member for the lid body, a locking tool and the weight, and the basket hanging hole provided in the basket body and a hole of the lid body are engaged and locked by a basket string with each other to be included and integrated to construct a chum basket.
