PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thresher which comprises emergency operation means for performing an emergency operation for stopping the rotation of a threshing cylinder and opening a cover body, and prevents the scatter of a treated object or the like to the outside of a threshing chamber at the emergency operation.SOLUTION: A thresher comprises: a cover body 13 for opening and closing a threshing chamber 11 which is internally fit with a threshing cylinder 9 a feed chain 12 arranged at the side of the threshing cylinder 9 and transferring grain culms in a state that ear tips are oriented toward the threshing cylinder 9 side and a gripper 14 arranged at the cover body 13 side and gripping plant food sides of the grain culms in transfer together with the feed chain 12 at the closing of the cover body 13.
